The Volkswagen Touran is a seven-seater MPV that has become popular among families looking for a spacious and practical vehicle. The car comes in five trim levels: S, SE, SE Family, SEL, and R-Line.
Under the hood, the Touran has a choice of three engines – a 1.2-liter TSI petrol engine with 109 bhp, a 1.4-liter TSI petrol engine with 148 bhp, and a 1.6-liter TDI diesel engine with either 108 bhp or 113 bhp. There’s also an optional seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox available with some models.
The interior of the Volkswagen Touran is comfortable and well-built. Higher-spec models have features such as sat-nav, panoramic sunroof and parking sensors.
When it comes to driving on UK roads, the Volkswagen Touran handles very well. The suspension provides comfort while driving over potholes and speed bumps around town. It's easy to maneuver through tight spots due to its nimble handling and good visibility out of the large windows. The steering wheel is well-weighted too which makes it easy to maintain control at higher speeds.
In terms of safety features, all Volkswagen Touran models have been awarded a five-star Euro NCAP rating. This includes standard safety features like electronic stability control (ESC), six airbags, adaptive cruise control (ACC) and lane departure warning system (LDW).
Fuel economy is impressive across all models as well –the diesel engines deliver between 54mpg to 62 mpg while petrol versions can return up to 43mpg.
